Creating CHRS Deep Links

Summary

myCoyote tiles link to individual sections of specific CHRS pages that don't natively have unique links. In order to do this, Dx needs to use URL variables to create custom links for specific sections of the CHRS pages. The most common example is multiple tiles such as Absence Balance Inquiry, Absence Request/Entry, etc. all link to different sections of the same page and need unique URLs not provided by CHRS.

Based on this blog article, https://blog.jsmpros.com/2019/05/launching-into-middle-of-fluid.html, we can use a custom URL variable to preselect the correct CHRS module on the CHRS page. Using Absence Request as an example:

1. Navigate to the base CSU Time CHRS page.

2.a While in the Classic View, inspect the HTML code of the module you want to direct link to using the Developer Tools in your browser.

2.b Copy the value for the element you need with ptgpig=“”, in this case “CSU_S202007302040236046491868”

3.a If you are in the newer CHRS theming, you will find the tab ID in the tab onclick variable. The variable will start with CSU_ and is again in this case “CSU_S202007302040236046491868”

4. Append the value &ptgpid= along with the copied value to the base CHRS page URL.

5. The new link https://chrs.hr.calstate.edu/psc/HCHRPRD/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/NUI_FRAMEWORK.PT_AGSTARTPAGE_NUI.GBL?CONTEXTIDPARAMS=TEMPLATE_ID%3aPTPPNAVCOL&scname=CSU_TIME&PanelCollapsible=Y&PTPPB_GROUPLET_ID=CSU_TL_TIME&CRefName=CSU_TL_START_NAV_FLU_ESS&ptgpid=CSU_S202007302040236046491868 now links to the CSU Time CHRS page with the Request Absence module pre-selected.
